Small ship, authentic exploration

Closer to the Arctic, in every sense.

M/S Quest welcomes a maximum of just 50 guests and offers a wonderfully intimate way to discover the wild, remote landscapes of Svalbard.

Built in Denmark in 1992 for service along Greenland's west coast, she was converted into an expedition vessel between 2004 and 2005, with further renovations to guest areas in 2018. Comfortable without being formal, Quest puts exploration, wildlife and the experience of being in the Arctic first.

Her compact size, experienced expedition team and easy Zodiac access make spontaneous shore landings and exploration at close range a natural part of the day, always subject to local conditions and safety.

The small ship difference

More time experiencing.
Less time waiting.

01 / Explore further

Small enough to get closer

Quest can access secluded fjords and coastlines that are less practical for larger ships, with Zodiac excursions bringing the landscape within reach.

02 / Discover together

A truly personal atmosphere

With only 50 guests, there is room for shared conversations, new friendships and a relaxed rhythm throughout the voyage.

03 / Follow the conditions

Expedition first, always

Each day responds to weather, sea ice and wildlife opportunities, guided by the captain and expedition team.

Life on board

Comfortable. Welcoming. Wonderfully uncomplicated.

Between excursions, settle into the panorama lounge for views across the Arctic, engaging presentations about the region or a chat over a drink. There's a small library, a dining room where the whole group eats together and generous outdoor observation decks for watching the scenery unfold.

Panorama lounge & bar

Your gathering place for wildlife watching, expedition talks and a relaxed evening.

Open decks & bridge access

Take in the crisp Arctic air, scan for wildlife and visit the bridge throughout the voyage.

Dining together

Enjoy freshly prepared meals and share stories from the day's discoveries.
